Upon successful completion learners will receive a CA Department of Health Care Services (DHCS) compliance package, including a printable PDF of the Certified Community Health Worker (CHW) certificate issued by National Career Education Center (NCEC). Each module includes assigned homework from Foundations for Community Health Workers, a Video Lecture, and a Knowledge Check
Employees gain insights directly from the textbook authors through embedded videos, reinforcing key concepts
Instructional Design of the course developed by a team of public health professionals and active CHWs
Instructor of Record minimum qualifications include a Master’s of Public Health and experience working as a CHW
Most folks complete in about 100 hours including homework. Its roughly equivalent to a 6-unit class, and can be completed in six hours a week over a traditional 17-week semester timeline
Providing 1 paid hour a week for a cohort to have a study group is a great way to incentivize successful completion
Our course is not for college credit. We can provide documentation for students interested in the Credit for Prior Learning (CPL) pathway at a CA Community College.
Employers can easily modify the length of time for course completion. We recommend at least 17 weeks and not longer than 6 months
